I wouldn't be proud of this... Except I am.

So I watched this one Office episode where Michael Scott wants to raise money for the "Rabies Illness Prevention" fund. Ahem, background story. Okay, so he's driving to work one day, blabbing on and on about the importance of safe driving and BAM! He hits one of his employees (Meredith, the alcoholic) with his car. In any normal situation, this would not be funny in the least. However, because this is The Office... it's hilarious. Anyway, she has to go to the hospital because she breaks her hip, but in the process Michael finds out she's had several rabies shots in the past. And he freaks out, not realizing that there is indeed a cure for such a disease and decides he wants to have a fund raiser.

Why am I taking the time to record a blog about this? Simply because I had a Michael Scott moment. Yesterday. I was jogging down my street, listening to the Backstreet Boys (they're still cool in my mind) and all of a sudden this squirrel jumps right in front of me and scares the living crap out of me! (How crap is living, I have no clue. Just go with it.) So this squirrel jumps out at me, and I freak out because I had no idea this was coming! I believe God has a sense of humor, because somebody had to put the thought into the animal's head to do this, and I don't think it was the squirrel's. Because, if anyone has any experience whatsoever with these wild animals, they know they're human avoiders. They don't just attack people out of the blue! So this deadly specimen runs off when I scream. I start jogging again, and then I get to thinking... HOLY CRAP! What if this squirrel had rabies??? Was it foaming at the mouth? Did it have crazed dilated pupils? I didn't notice any of this, but it is very possible. So I wanted to raise awareness about rabies... again. Even though there is a vaccination. In this I realize this is my Michael Scott moment. I promise, I'll try not to have another one. But beware of the wild animals!

  1. First, I want to tell you how much I love this. Michael thought that he was helping. Unfortunately he threw up after. Did you?

  2. Hahaha he sure did, didn't he? Unfortunately, this did not happen to me. However, I drank 6 gajillion cups of water during the event, and afterward peed probably twice as many times. Hey, it doesn't include vomit but it's still a bodily function, so it counts right?
