Alright ladies. For those of us who love for our hair to look great, but don't want to spend so much time in front of the mirror blow drying, heating up styling tools, and frying our hair, this blog entry will definitely benefit you.
I color my hair light blonde. My natural shade is in between brown and blonde. Some of my hairstylists have called it a dirty blonde, some have called it a dark blonde, some have called it a super light brown. Anyway, so I can go either way with dying my hair. It takes well to pretty much any color. But I insist on being a blonde. Having been every natural color of hair (brunette, blonde, red) I can say that I've had the most fun being a blonde. However, this does have its downsides. If you're blow-drying, round brushing and straightening your hair every day, the ends get fried faster, which means more trips to the salon for a trim. So if you can avoid all of the heat, you'll also be able to avoid spending out so much money on haircuts. I don't even own a curling iron. I definitely wear my hair straight almost every day. But I like trying new things, and this is the perfect way to maintain your healthy hair!
I'm including a video tutorial on what you need to do to get curls without the heat and styling products. Without even a blow dryer. The one thing about this girl though, is that she has extremely thick hair. I do not. My hair is fine, but I have a lot of it. So watch the video real quick! Do it!
Now you may have noticed that her curls are extremely tight. I'm not so fond of that on myself. And with my particular hair length, I'm pretty sure I'd look like Shirly Temple with those tight curls. Who is a child. And I am not. So I used thicker strands of my hair and wound it loosely around the hairband. I slept on it all night, and was not expecting it to work. Mind you, before my hair dried, I put some flexible hold mousse in my hair just to help the curls form better in the headband, and also to prevent it from becoming frizzy, if there was a chance that would happen. I have shorter layers in my hair also, so I had to wrap some of my hair through my straightener to add a little bit more body and curl at the top of my head after I took my headband out. This is how I normally fix my hair.
And this is what my hair looked like after I used this particular curling method. I did more of a wave with my hair, but you get the gist of it.
I know it doesn't look like much, but I did it in five minutes. And you can't beat that! Unless you just don't have hair... in that case, why are you reading this? :D
